acting career

Naomi has recently completed a successful run at The Polka Theatre of Alan Ahleberg's The Jolly Postman, where she performed a dizzying array of comical and magical fairytale characters. From a house proud Wicked Witch to a loveable Prince Charming ("Cortes, a versatile actor, makes a lovely toff-ish Prince Charming" - The Stage). She has also made her CBBC debut as the no-nonsense Sergeant Theresa Singer in their hit series Crisis Control.

In The Twits, a raucous tale by Roald Dahl, Naomi danced, sang and hung upside down as Mrs Mugglewump using "wonderful physical theatre" (Nigel McFarlane, Bolton Evening News) to evoke sympathy from her audiences. The production was a huge success at the Octagon Theatre in Bolton and later transferred to London for another season.

Melvin Burgess's Bloodtide was adapted and directed by Marcus Romer, Artistic Director of the award-winning Pilot Theatre. Naomi brought the character of Melanie to life in a production that was "visually arresting and energetically performed" (Northern Echo).

For Action Transport Theatre she worked as an actor with local artists and musicians in Gogo, a co-production in South Africa with Vuluvulani Theatre. She also performed in Tselane’s Song (Unicorn Theatre), a stage play based on a South African folktale.
