Naomi performed with Polka Theatre in Mike Kenny's stage play The Snow Queen. She was delighted to be asked as this was her second production with the company - she had performed with them before in the children's favourite The Jolly Postman by Allan Ahlberg.
This time under the direction of Jonathon Lloyd she was "a force of nature as the bombastic Robber Girl" (The Stage). She brought a strong physicality to the role, exploring the character's natural and feral spirit, remaining true to Hans Christian Andersen's original idea. But Naomi could not resist injecting her own comedic charms, making the Robber Girl a mischievous spirit who would invite the audience into being playful too.
One of these memorable moments was the transformation of robber Girl to pigeon! With just a couple of handfuls of feathers and an incredibly sulky impression, she exploited the opportunity to clown about the stage, bringing the house down with her rendition of a put-upon pigeon. And the use of a bip-bopping petal headdress as she entertained the audience with her hip-happy beaming daisy in her storytelling role.
