Naomi was cast in Janet and Allan Ahlberg's The Jolly Postman, entertaining family audiences with a dizzying array of characters as she cackled, pounced and even bleated her way across the stage of Polka Theatre.
The Jolly Postman has been captivating children across the world for many years and for the first time ever, the creative team at Polka decided to bring the Ahlberg's enchanting picture book to life on stage.
Naomi was cast to play a range of famous characters from the clumsy clownish Jill, of Jack and Jill fame who confused the Jolly Postman, the authoritative Mama Bear who enjoyed sharing her top secret recipe for porridge, the Prince of Charming-ness "Cortes, a versatile actor, makes a lovely toff-ish Prince Charming." (The Stage) who inspected many a foot until he found one fit for a princess and the Wicked Witch who delighted audiences with her mischievous mayhem in the kitchen!
This was not Naomi's first foray onto the Polka stage, having performed in their production of Mike Kenny's The Snow Queen and with Oily Cart's Theatre's Jumpin' Beans, their first ever show for babies! She had also performed in the company's show Boing! an interactive production for young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and began her work with them by playing Pocket in Under Your Hat, an installation theatre spectacular.
