Naomi Cortes storymaking for World Book Day
As a lively teller of tales, Naomi provides drama-based interactive storymaking workshops for all ages, either as a stand alone workshop or part of a series of activities. These bespoke workshops encourage creative expression, develop pupils’ confidence and supports all areas of the school curriculum, particularly creative writing and other aspects of literacy.
Naomi’s workshops are fully accessible, as she places strong emphasis on visual language, using movement as well as words. She also understands the importance of creating a fully inclusive storymaking world to encourage participants who lack confidence in using words.
Every session Naomi leads is tailored to the ethos of the school and the requirements of the pupils. She is very happy to work alongside senior leadership teams, teachers and others members of staff to create a programme from scratch - perhaps also developing ideas introduced by the students.
Naomi Cortes World Book Day event
Through the various projects she has been involved with, Naomi is dedicated to providing all children and young people with access to a safe forum where they can develop new skills and feel confident in expressing their views and concerns, as well as engaging their imaginations with creative ideas.
“We felt all the activities were successful and Naomi pitched them at the correct level for our Early Years pupils. Naomi was very positive throughout the activities. Less confident children were encouraged to gently join in and this suited them.”
